The alleged shooter is Elias Rodriguez, 30 or 31, of Chicago, in police custody after the shooting. I can see the Democrats joining with the Republicans to throw the 1st Amendment and real leftists (note that there is a range of opinion on the left regarding the assassination, as the right has a range of opinion on violent acts tied to it, and opinion is not culpability in the USA, or not yet) under the bus, as they have in repressing perfectly legal, non-violent, pro-Palestine speech. Anti-Palestinianism – I first saw this term on Wikipedia around 1-3 days ago; the media, etc. don't use it (related to the 'Palestinian exception to free speech?') and Islamophobia is rarely mentioned by the media, while "anti-semitism" is made into a very grave, powerful magic word. [NPR's Morning Edition will interview an expert on " counterterrorism" regarding "anti-semitism" June 4th in 2025 – wonder how far right they went in finding a guest? NPR has interviewed John Yoo, Condoleezza Rice, Steve Bannon, John Bolton, probably Liz Cheney, etc. in recent years, when they no longer held government office. They weren't pushed very hard on what they did in office. They might have something interesting to contribute, but NPR rarely interviews even people who are just on the left flank of the Democratic Party, let alone further left. NPR took the "democracy, if you can keep it" line leading up the election, and 1A still has a program along that line every Monday morning, but NPR won't do much in a new "Red Scare," if the Federal government or paramilitaries start arresting, deporting, killing, or firing and blacklisting alleged subversives, though a Trump might go after NPR as well. NPR apparently considers leftists irrelevant and deplorable, except when foreign leftists are useful in pushing for the Ukraine War, etc. A guest on the TED Radio Hour or whatever Sunday, June 1st in the morning painted a dire picture of much information tech companies have to share with the government, and there are the dire post-Snowden articles online. Paper and ground organization is needed, instead of the Internet, but then there are the cameras, and softness on the Democratic Party.] [They interviewed a Seamus Hughes from the University of Nebraska Omaha June 4th?]
