The Culprit of the Attack on the Transition Government in Mali & the AES is NATO Imperialism

The Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) condemns the imperialist-backed terrorist and separatist attacks against the Transition Government of Mali on April 25, 2026. This was a major attack that terrorized the population in several towns, resulting in casualties, among whom the minister of defense, General Sadio Camara, his wife, and grandchildren were killed. The Black Alliance for Peace offers our condolences to the family and comrades in the Malian transition government, as well as the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

Consistent with our principles, BAP stands in unity with all anti-imperialist fighting forces. We therefore stand in solidarity with the transition government of Mali, as well as the AES generally, which have been at the forefront of fighting imperialist forces in Africa. In this case, imperialism in the form of its former colonizer and NATO member, France, was reportedly providing intelligence to the terrorists even four years ago. We also add its opportunistic partner, Ukraine, which admitted only two years ago to supplying heavy weaponry in the form of drones to proxy terrorist forces JNIM and FLA as a counter to Russian forces contracted by the Malian government to help them in this battle.

We will not be silent while the forces actually responsible for the symptoms of terrorism in Africa posture as the remedy for it. The prevalence of terrorism in Africa was born from NATO’s destruction of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya in 2011, a vile crime against humanity that unleashed and scattered the reactionary terrorist forces across the Sahel and beyond. The Western world’s continued neocolonial plunder of Africa depends on keeping the continent destabilized. Because no truly liberated people would tolerate the paternalistic, militarist, extractive relationship that is the mission of NATO and its member countries.

The transition government of Mali has forced the French out, accusing them of assisting the terrorists. We are convinced -- based on history -- that France has not totally discontinued their efforts to destabilize and balkanize Mali and the AES by proxy in order to continue its long history of colonial domination and exploitation. The numerous assassination and coup attempts against Ibrahim Traore in Burkina Faso originating from the Ivory Coast are a testament to this. Ivory Coast has been one of France’s primary proxies in Africa since the days of Houphet Boigny, who was famously called the French traveling salesman by Frantz Fanon.

BAP understands that Africa will only be sovereign and free when it is able to develop a path reflective of a People’s Centered Human Rights. This requires freeing itself from the imperialist hybrid war perpetrated by NATO, AFRICOM, IMF/World Bank forces, and their neocolonial proxies.

CPMK and BAP – Comprador repression in Kenya: Kenyan government offers red carpet for colonizers and a bloody nose for Anti-Imperialists

Comprador Repression in Kenya: Kenyan government offers Red carpet for colonizers and a bloody nose for Anti-Imperialists

The Kenyan state has demonstrated a consistent and brutal willingness to deploy state terror against organized political dissent, targeting revolutionary leaders, working-class organizers, and anti-colonial voices with impunity. Past cases have laid bare the state’s methods: the violent abduction, torture, and illegal detention of Comrade Booker Ngesa Omole, Secretary General of the Communist Party Marxist Kenya, followed by the grotesque inversion of reality in which the victim of state torture was framed with fabricated assault charges. Today, as French President Emmanuel Macron co-hosts the France Africa Summit, rebranded as "Africa Forward 2026" in Nairobi with President William Ruto—announcing €23 billion in “investments” while seeking a permanent French military presence—the Ruto regime has exposed its true character as a neocolonial and comprador administration acting in defence of imperialist interests against the democratic rights of the people.

The regime has chosen to criminalise anti-imperialist solidarity while rolling out the red carpet for foreign exploiters and agents of monopoly capital. Among those arrested in the ongoing crackdown are distinguished anti-imperialist and revolutionary activists, intellectuals, and organisers from across the globe. Their only crime is standing with the oppressed. Their only crime is rejecting imperialist domination. Their only crime is declaring that Africa is not for sale.

The arrest of international delegates, who were in Kenya for the Pan-African Summit Against Imperialism, a parallel counter summit, further demonstrates the growing panic and hypocrisy within imperialist and comprador circles who on one hand claim a “Pan-African Mandate” to send  its police forces as the Black faces of white supremacy in the U.S.-led occupation of Haiti and in another, physically attack international Pan-African delegates on its own soil. The source of this contradiction? They fear the unity of revolutionary and progressive forces across continents, international solidarity against imperialism, they fear a politically conscious people. But repression has never defeated the people’s struggle. Colonial detention camps did not defeat the liberation movement. Moi’s anti-communist repression did not defeat the struggle for democratic rights. Fascist laws and police terror will not silence the masses today.

The independence of Africa is meaningless unless it is linked with the total liberation of the continent from imperialism and neocolonialism. The Communist Party Marxist Kenya and the Black Alliance for Peace therefore demand:

1) The immediate and unconditional release of all arrested comrades

2) An end to police harassment, abductions, and repression against activists, organisers, and progressive movements

3) The immediate halt to all imperialist military, political, and economic agreements being imposed upon Kenya and Africa

4) Respect for the democratic rights of all participants attending anti-imperialist and Pan-African gatherings.

In line with the Black Alliance for Peace's "U.S. and NATO Out of Africa" campaign, we further demand the closure of all foreign military bases on the continent, an end to AFRICOM and its proxy operations, and the full withdrawal of U.S., French, and NATO forces from African soil—from Kenya to Haiti, no more occupations under any banner. The struggle against imperialism is international, and no amount of repression shall defeat the organised masses of the people.

BAP Condemns the Zionist Brutalization and Detainment of Chris Smalls, Emblematic of the White Supremacy at the Core of Zionism

The Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) unequivocally denounces the brutal assault and abduction of Amazon Labor Union co-founder Chris Smalls, who was detained by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Though he is now released, the exceptionally heinous treatment of Smalls by the Zionist state forces demonstrates the historical neurotic fear of any interconnection between Black / African resistance to white supremacy and resistance to capitalist exploitation.

As part of the 21-member international collective aboard the aid ship Handala, a flotilla that was headed to Gaza to protest and break the blockade on the Palestinian people collectively being starved to death, Smalls was the only member of the group beaten and choked by IDF agents. He was also the only Black person aboard the ship. While the IDF stopped, boarded, and abducted all the activists on board, they did not use the same level of force against the other passengers or crew that they brutally applied against Smalls.

The special brutality meted out to Smalls is another example of the racist, white supremacy at the core of Israeli settler colonialism and explains both their genocide against Palestinians and the relative silence and support for it by the West. This racist violence reflects the reality of how African Jews from various countries are viewed and treated in Israel. Even as we have seen African Jews in the IDF carrying out unconscionable violence upon Palestinians, they are subjected to the forms of racist hatred that the same IDF meted out to Smalls, and worse. The lack of response from the U.S. government regarding the treatment of Smalls also reflects the way this state views Black/ African residents in the country, and highlights the continuity of white supremacist settler colonialism across both of these violent and genocidal nations.

For some time now, Small's example has highlighted a vital understanding that the liberation of any domestic working class is inextricably linked to the defeat of U.S.-led Western imperialist domination. This attack on a working-class, anti-imperialist leader further highlights the connection between domestic oppression and Western imperialism, where the U.S. and its allies— including Israel— act with impunity.

This lack of meaningful action against the zionist occupation and genocidal acceleration of the state of Israel, as well as the U.S.’s consistent support and own human rights violations, motivates BAP’s call to ban the United States and Israel from hosting or participating in international sporting events. While this is but one strategy, what is clear is that more efforts toward anti-imperialist multilateralism are needed, represented through movement efforts like the Friends of The Hague Group (FOTHG), state-based support by The Hague Group, and consistent solidarity with the Axis of Resistance. It is this impunity that has allowed this genocide in Gaza to continue unabated for almost two years, that has contributed to the deepening siege and theft of the West Bank, and that has permitted the brutalization of Chris Smalls to occur with little uproar from so-called progressives and liberal elites.

The capture, brutalization, and imprisonment of Smalls by the fascist and racist IDF underscores the urgent need for solidarity between African/Black and Palestinian struggles. The lack of consequences for Israel reflects not only the hypocrisy of so-called democratic nations but also the complicity of the U.S.’s own Black Misleadership Class, which too often aligns with sustaining pan-European, capitalist, patriarchal interests.

Justice for Chris Smalls!

Smash Zionism!

End the U.S./EU/NATO Axis of Domination!

PCOF: Georges Ibrahim Abdallah is free! + ICMLPO condemns the aggression against Iran

Georges Ibrahim Abdallah is free!

The oldest political prisoner in France, and even in Europe, the activist who has always advocated communism, internationalism, and the Palestinian cause, will be released from prison after 40 years of confinement. He will return to Lebanon on July 25, where his comrades and friends await him.

This is a victory, the fruit of his unwavering determination, his convictions, his refusal to deny himself. It is a victory for the national and international support movement. It is an example of courage and firmness for young and old anti-imperialist and revolutionary activists.

This time, justice has ignored the pressure from those who wanted to break him: whether it be the US and Israeli authorities, or the French authorities who have succeeded one another for 40 years who have always refused to release him.

We welcome this release, which is an encouragement to continue the fight against reaction, Zionism, the Zionist state, supported by US imperialism and complicit governments, including the French government.

ICMLPO condemns the U.S.-Zionist Aggression against Iran
June 27, 2025

On the dawn of June 21, the United States government launched a direct military attack against Iran, which was added to attacks launched earlier through Israel, its "watchdog" in the region.
This barbaric attack confirms the involvement of U.S. imperialism in the aggression that the Zionist State is waging against Iran in the name of the Western imperialist camp, which seeks to remodel the region to reaffirm its control over it, its resources, its markets and its strategic locations. In short, it is to improve their position against their competitors in the inter-imperialist confrontation, particularly against China and Russia, which, on their part, limit themselves to formal protests, while keeping intact their trade and political relations with the Zionist aggressor.
We are therefore witnessing an open confrontation between the imperialist powers, whose cost in human lives, destruction and suffering is being paid by the peoples of the region.
The International Conference of Marxist-Leninist Parties and Organizations (ICMLPO):
– Condemns this new barbaric aggression against Iran.
– Expresses its full support to the Iranian people and their right to defend themselves and defend their territorial sovereignty against the U.S.-Zionist aggression.
– Reaffirms that “preventing Iran from possessing nuclear weapons” is just a pretext to launch this aggression, whose main goal is to change the regime and replace it, as it was done in Syria, by a puppet regime that obeys its interests, thus completing the reshaping of the geopolitical landscape of the region.
– Emphasizes that the ceasefire achieved does not mean that the conflict is over, as U.S. imperialism and Israeli Zionism have not abandoned their ambitions to achieve total control of the region; that Israel's threats to prevent Iran from continuing with its nuclear program could trigger a new escalation with unpredictable consequences because of the effects it could create.
– Confirms that the real danger to the peoples of the region and the world comes from the real war-makers, led by the U.S.-Western imperialist monster, its Zionist creation and NATO.
– Calls on all the peoples of the world to act with strength and determination to end the aggression against Iran, the war of extermination in Gaza and Palestine and the attacks on Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, and to expel all fleets and dismantle all the military bases in the region.
– Welcomes with satisfaction the firmness of resistance in Gaza and the West Bank.

Internationally resistance actions were held from Philippines, Bangladesh and Japan to Norway and Denmark. Across Canada there were actions in Vancouver to Hamilton Ontario.

In the U.S. the week of actions stretched from Portland Oregon to NYC, Philadelphia and Boston. Mobilizations across the Mid West included Chicago and Minneapolis to across the state of New York in Albany, Rochester and Buffalo to Atlanta and Richmond in the South.

Message from Tehran: ‘Iran Will Resist, Will Fight Back and Shall Never Surrender’

June 29, 2025

The following messages from Global Resistance for Peace and Justice and its co-founder, Hamid Shahrabi, based in Tehran were issued on June 28, 2025.

To all organizations and individuals who responded to our call for international actions on June 28 in solidarity with Palestine and Iran, we extend our sincere gratitude for your participation. Your engagement in these actions reflects your commitment to just struggles, and while we recognize that you do not seek acknowledgment, we wish to express our appreciation for your support.

We would like to especially thank the United National Antiwar Coalition (UNAC) and BAYAN-Philippines for not only providing their support but also actively organizing these important solidarity actions.

Today, just a few hours ago, millions of people in Tehran gathered to honor martyrs who have lost their precious lives during the 12 days of Israeli/United States brutal bombardments. This tribute included several of our high ranking military leaders, great scientists and numerous innocent civilians, including many children.

The gathering conveyed a strong message of resilience: that Iran is committed to defending its sovereignty and will respond to aggressions. The message was, that Iran will resist, will fight back and shall never be surrounded. In fact, it echoed the same message which was passed earlier by the brave supreme leader of Iran, who has stood firm at the forefront of the historical liberation struggles of our heroic nation.

This situation highlights a fundamental difference between those who advocate for human rights and dignity and those who pursue dominance and exploitation. Our struggle is deeply rooted in the values of liberty, peace, sovereignty and national integrity. In contrast, our adversaries resort to violence and oppression in their pursuit of power and racist supremacy.

So, we invite all who seek to understand the realities on the ground to recognize that Iran remains steadfast in its commitment to its sovereignty and will respond to any acts of aggression, regardless of the aggressor, including the United States, which is one of the most powerful empires in history.

Dear comrades,

This is a historical conjuncture, a decisive moment in the long struggle between the oppressor and oppressed, a battle in which Iran is proudly holding the banner of the oppressed people of the South, while its adversaries represent the camp of savage oppressors.

Let us have no doubt that we shall prevail in this crucial battle. The resoluteness of the Iranian people in defending their nation, backed by your indispensable support through international solidarity actions, shall guarantee our final triumph, a perspective that shall be realized sooner than what our adversaries may even think.

Thank you for your support once again.

In Solidarity,

Hamid Shahrabi – GRPJ co-founder

Long live Iran!

UNAC Joined and Helped Organize Protests Against the Recent NATO Summit in The Hague

Antiwar forces flooded into The Hague in the Netherlands prior to the NATO 2025 summit to protest the meeting of this aggressive, imperialist military alliance. A People’s Summit was held by the Resist NATO Coalition. UNAC members are part of the Resist NATO steering committee.  Other anti-NATO meetings were held by the Global Women United for Peace Against NATO (GWUAN), also represented on the Resist NATO steering committee, the No to war - No to NATO Network and other groups. All groups joined together for a mass protest in the Hague on Sunday, June 22 that drew an estimated ten thousand people.

The NATO summit itself was held in The Hague on June 24 - 25 and happened in an atmosphere of crisis in NATO. NATO’s proxy war against Russia in Ukraine is being lost and the leading NATO power, the US, has been questioning its role in that war preferring to turn its attention towards its main, self-declared enemy, China. Some other NATO member states have also started to question their role in Ukraine. US talk of withdrawing its support for the Ukraine war has been used as a bludgeon against the other NATO member states to get them to spend more on their militaries and they passed a proposal to increase military spending to 5% of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2035. This at a time when the European countries are going through sever economic problems and discontent is rising among the people as social programs are being cut while military spending increases.

Also, the NATO summit took place after the start or the Israeli/US attack on Iran, which along with their continuing genocide against the Palestinian people has exposed the true nature of the Zionist regime, the US and their NATO allies to the entire world. The attack on Iran refocused the anti-NATO forces and the actions against NATO also called for “Hands off Iran.”

More than 200 people attended the Resist NATO People’s Summit, mostly young, and many recently politicized people. The conference heard an important greeting and message of support from Ambassador Jorge Valero Briceno, the Venezuelan ambassador to the European Union. There were keynote addresses, panels and workshops throughout the day including one co-led, by UNAC coordinator, Joe Lombardo along with Rhonda Ramiro of the Resist US-led War Movement who is also a UNAC leader, on Defying Rising Militarism and Fascism. Another packed workshop called Organizing Women Against War and for Just Peace was co-led by UNAC and GWUAN leader Pippa Bartolotti, Ulla Klotzer from GWUAN and Donna Denina of the International Women’s Alliance (IWA). GWUAN also showed its slide show at the conference, which depicted women from countries throughout the world holding messages against NATO (click here for slide show).

After the march and rally GWUAN also held its own hybrid meeting with a full room of people in The Hague and many more from around the world through a zoom link. Women spoke in person and through Zoom about the fight against NATO and against war in their own countries.

Unlike past NATO summits, there was not much talk about Ukraine. Instead, there was a concentration on keeping the organization together and Ukraine would have been a divisive issue. They gave into the US demand that the various NATO members increase their military spending to 5 % but this is to happen over a 10-year period and Spain refuse to commit to this target. The focus of the Unite[d] States is shifting towards China, so they need to have the other NATO country play a bigger role in NATO and in its war against Russia for this to happen. Their increased military spending at the expense of social programs in their countries is meeting with resistance. During this period of crisis in NATO and among the Western imperialist power we must re-double our efforts to end this imperialist alliance and for peace.

The Black Alliance for Peace Stands Unequivocally Behind Kenya’s Youth Upholding Resistance Against U.S. Puppet State Imperialism and Neo-Liberalism

In June 2024, Kenya was racked by youth mobilizations, referred to as the Gen Z Movement protests, as that nation’s young people rose up against the neo-liberal austerity measures enacted by the U.S. lackey president William Ruto. In typical fashion, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had demanded increased taxation and funding cuts to a country whose leadership has privileged the dictates of imperialism over its own people. Kenya’s police killed 60 people during those 2024 actions but the popular struggle resulted in the plans for taxation being cancelled.

On the first anniversary of these actions the young people rose up again in opposition to the Ruto government which sent its troops to Haiti at the behest of the U.S. government, and which was designated a major non-NATO ally in gratitude for its posture as a vassal state. Kenya’s police state is again killing those who oppose, including journalist Albert Ojwang, who died in police custody, and more recently Boniface Kariuki, ostensibly for protesting Ojwang’s assassination.

The Africa Team of the Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) and the organizing arm of the U.S. Out of Africa Network (USOAN) once again stands in solidarity with the masses of Kenyans fighting against the neo-liberal austerity schemes and obedience to U.S. imperialism. Despite the fascist repression, the youth of Kenya are fearless in their resolve and persist in declaring and exposing the illegitimacy of the compradors of neo-colonialism.

The Gen-Z Movement represents the offspring or torch bearers of the unfinished revolution of the Kenya Land and Freedom Army (KLFA), known also as the Mau Mau, whose valiant fight paved the path toward defeat of their British colonizers in 1960. Gen-Z are the political cubs of their predecessors Comrades Dedan Kimathi, Mzalendo Bildad Kaggia, Wasonga Sijeyo, Pio Gama Pinto, and Mzalendo Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, true revolutionary heroes who stood firm in the fight for the genuine independence of Kenya.

BAP and the USOAN are clear that for the movement to decolonize Kenya to be complete the running dogs of imperialism must be driven from office and the neo-colonial economic structures must be dismantled allowing a truly sovereign Kenya to be established, untethered to the U.S.-EU-NATO Axis of Domination.

BAP remains unequivocal in the demand for U.S. imperialism to cease propping up the Ruto regime, for the unconditional and immediate release of our Kenyan family detailed and jailed during these protests, and for reparations to be dispensed to the family and loved ones of those killed by the state and their goons.

Forward to expelling AFRICOM from the entire continent!

Forward to dethroning the comprador class in Africa!

Forward to one united, socialist Africa!

No Compromise!

No Retreat!
