More statements and actions against the US wars and rumors of war in the Middle East and Latin America – March 2026

Some upcoming events are listed at:  durhamspark.blogspot.com/2026/02/an-update-for-week-8-of-2026-history-of.html and durhamspark.blogspot.com/2026/02/revising-durhams-udoldclup-planning.html  Durham Creek Week began March 14th and Farmworker Awareness Week 2026 (March 25th-31st:  saf-unite.org/national-farmworker-awareness-week/ – ?) other local creek weeks and begin in late March.

NPR, etc. says that there isn't much newcoming out of the Middle East (US and Israeli barbarism is unstoppable and has won; Iran and Lebanon are now in the position of Gaza, to be bombed on a regular basis?  They dominate the airspace?  ); the BBC says that there is more news, the US and Israel are barbaric and winning, and that this is great (no more talk about Reza Pahlavi, and Google's spellchecker knows his name), but online I see:  theworker.news/2026/03/14/more-us-forces-annihilated-as-iran-and-resistance-strikes-expand/ , geopolitiq.substack.com/p/axis-of-resistance-shoots-down-two , Simplicius March 12th, etc. saying that there is still hope (the "steadfast" Middle East could save the world).  The BBC faults Iran for allegedly not having warnings and bomb shelters for civilians, unlike Israel.  There aren't any warnings or shelters here either, and I've never heard of the UK having such system, though they claim to be ready for WWIII with Russia.  The BBC also said that a peaceful or non-violent demonstration in Cuba around the 14th just happened to become violent.  Are they going to say that the Cuban "regime" attacked peaceful event?  No, the protesters attacked CP office.  The BBC didn't frame recent violent British anti-immigrant riotas peaceful.  An anti-Cuba, anti-Castro "senior researcher" from Chatham House (though he did say that the Cuban Revolution he wants ended has accomplishments) talked like it matters what the Cuban-American rightists in Florida want done in foreign country and somewhere it was pointed out that the Cuban-American vote in Florida doesn't matter much, since the Republican Party now 'owns' Florida and Trump isn't running again.  Cuba is doomed, they imply (I think they have somoil, etc.).  Is Trump going to attack Cuba after failing against Iran and only partially defeating Venezuela, like Hitler attacked the USSR after failing to defeat the UK (through aerial bombing), creating a two-front war?  He also has to consider what Russia and/or China might do  while the Uis bogged down in multiple wars.  I had forgotten that Obama made an official visit to Cuba, one of the few good things he did in foreign policy?  The BBC frames Iran as attacking peaceful bystander countries that just happen to militarily collaborate with the US and Israel.  They don't discuss Israel'behavior towards its neighbors sincbefore the Al Aqsa Flood.  A woman guest in the studio did point out that the "Western" mainstream media calls this the "Iran War," but it goefar beyond just Iran, Israel, and the US (and now the Islamic Resistance of Iraq has joined and are being bombed, if they can be found from the air).  Unlike what the US government does for Israel at the UNRussia and China abstained on a resolution against Iran rather than veto it.  Allegedly Kurdish exile army is going to invade Iran from northern Iraq after all and the US has practically already made Kharg Island into Iran's "Taiwan," according to some former US senior officer (the air war has been "brilliant," he claimed).  He did not compare a hypothetical US Marines or whatever beachhead on Kharg to western Ukraine'miserable, hard to re-supply or relieve beachheads across eastern rivers.  Unfortunately, while avoiding NPR I might have re-discovered a "right-wing talk radio" station connected to Fox (?), way on the other side of the dial from NPR, where some younger guy I didn't recognize praised attacking mine-laying smalboats, the "jihadis" in Gaza and Iran hide their weapons under hospitals and schools, he claimed, based on what some authority said.  He allegedly doesn't want to see children killed (I doubt that).  He denigrated Iranian technology (but Iran has an indigenous space program and their peaceful nuclear program) and seemed to want to wash his hands of a war Trump decided to kick off.  Does Iran even need to use mines, when they have drones, missiles, smalsubmarines, etc.?  Could they use divers to manually bomb shipaanchor?  On the other hand, the station carries AM Coast to Coast late at night (with the author of Supernatural Lake Superior?).  I haven't heard any talk in the mainstream media about Iranian hits on the US Navy and air forces, or Utechnological failuresbut maybe I missed somethingNPR has  covered the allegedly accidental multiple bombing of the girls school.  US atrocities and war crimes are always tragic accidents or the fault of a few low-ranking 'bad apples.'  If low-ranking soldier disobeys an illegal order, they could face court-martial, and a war crimetribunal otherwise?

The BBC will probably show much more concern about an alleged cluster munition attack in Israel than it does when cluster munitions go the other way.  Israel killed a Palestinian couple and two of their children in their car in the West Bank; the incident will be 'investigated,' they say.  There has been speculation that Israel is threatening the Al-Aqsa Mosque in 2026.

Prairieland immigrant detention protest (in Texassee an earlier post) terrorism convictions.

Alleged "overproduction" or excess production or capacity by other countries.

show on NPR (?) for once admitted that the cost and availability of materials and labor, problems with financing, etc. also effect housing stock and prices, not just allegedly excessive regulation and locaauthorities who are allegedly reluctant to do whatever the FIRE capitalists want them to doNPR makesure to only interview the capitalists and people basically working for them on the issue.  Has NPR now become "Reaganite?"

...

"This call affirms that:

  • Iran is targeted for its independence and unwavering support for the Palestinian people for decades, including throughout the zionist-imperialist genocide that has taken over 100,000 Palestinian lives.
  • Iran has every right, including under international law, to defend itself and counterattack against US bases, outposts, and Israeli settler colonialism and occupation in the region.
  • Iran’s resistance to this brutality is in defense of the whole of the Global South, from Palestine and Sudan to Cuba and Venezuela.
  • Iran’s targeting of U.S. bases in the region underscores how Washington’s vast network of roughly 750 military installations across more than 80 countries and colonies—costing taxpayers at least $80 billion annually—serves as the global infrastructure of U.S. imperialist domination, and must be dismantled and shut down.
  • Iran is defending its sovereignty against the same US imperialist war machine that, kidnaps and terrorizes migrants, targets working class, Black, Brown and Indigenous communities with its carceral and surveillance apparatuses,  defunds healthcare, education, and other life-sustaining institutions, and is engaged in the McCarthyite repression of those resisting. The US remains the number one threat to peace in the region and in the world, inflicting death and destruction through military and economic warfare, including unliteral coercive measures, blockades, tariff wars, and currency manipulation.

We call on all popular forces to stand with Iran, reject imperialist-zionist aggression, uphold the right of resistance, continue to join emergency actions worldwide, and prepare for mass mobilizations and resistance to US war on Iran and ongoing genocide in Palestine on Al-Quds Day, March 13, 2026. Until then, we encourage all forces to issue statements and labor resolutions, organize political education events, walkouts, protests, strikes, pickets and sit-ins and other actions, and prepare to SHUT IT DOWN in opposition to this criminal assault."

Subservient presidents bow to Trump

On March 7, U.S. President Donald Trump brought together Latin America's most reactionary presidents. These presidents are true vassals of imperialism, attending the so-called Summit of the Shield of the Americas.
The purpose that the president of the main economic and military power has in his hands, by bringing together the most servile presidents, is to form a team that will serve as a spearhead in the inter-imperialist confrontation he has with China, which will reaffirm his positions on the continent.
Trump has been fulfilling this policy of imperialist consolidation in the region with blood and fire, by hook or by crook, as has already happened in Venezuela or with the threats to the Cuban people; actions that would be carried out on the latter, after the war with Iran "ends in a week", according to his calculations.
The intention to counteract the influence of Chinese imperialism is corroborated by part of the Summit's communiqué, when it states that: "This historic coalition of nations will work together to promote strategies that curb foreign interference in our hemisphere, criminal and narco-terrorist gangs and cartels, and irregular and mass migration." The fight against narco-terrorists is called into question by the pardon granted to Juan Orlando Hernández, former president of Honduras, sentenced for drug trafficking to 46 years in prison for trafficking 400 tons of drugs to the United States.
In addition, the fight against drug trafficking is in doubt because Trump "looks the other way" when it comes to the president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, whose use of Noboa Trading for the transport of narcotics is known popularly; otherwise, how can it be understood that the internal fight against narco-terrorist gangs is weakened over time, without results.
Another part of the State Department statement is contradictory, when it maintains that it will bring together the allies of the Western Hemisphere "to promote freedom, security and prosperity in our region."
The Summit, which in no way resembled an international forum nor was it official, was held at Trump's privately owned hotel in Miami, in which there was the participation of reactionary presidents, backward people tainted with acts of corruption such as drug trafficking, money laundering and even the abuse of minors or those publicly accused of pedophilia.
What has been outrageous has been the pejorative expressions of the U.S. president to the Spanish language, when he said at the top of his voice: "I am not going to learn your damn language", to which the presidents took solace, without any of them showing a minimum of dignity in the face of such an offense.
The ultraconservative presidents of Latin America pay homage to an individual who persecutes immigrant workers, treats them as criminals because of their language and their skin color, by the repressive apparatus of ICE.
Trump, in fact, is at the helm of the most backward governments in Latin America, subjecting those countries to the trampling of their national sovereignty, and are therefore repudiated by their peoples.

En Marcha #2175 from March 11 to 17, 2026 [this article:  www.pcmle.org/EM/spip.php?article14362 ] Central Organ of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party of Ecuador

WE CONDEMN THE NEW ATTACK BY THE US AND ISRAEL ON IRAN AND CALL FOR SOLIDARITY WITH THE IRANIAN WORKING CLASS AND THE PEOPLE
The new US-Israeli military aggression against Iran when they were supposedly negotiating, shows the perfidy of US imperialism, the main focus of war, instability and danger to world peace.
The ongoing war is a continuation of the aggression perpetrated on June 13 last year and the United States used the negotiations as a "smokescreen" while preparing its cunning coup.
This aggressive policy of the United States towards Iran and other countries must be assessed in the context of the deepening of the inter-imperialist contradictions and the Yankee escalation against the peoples in various regions of the world, especially in the Middle East and Latin America. The accusations of yesterday and today against Iran, as happened in Iraq in the past, are only subterfuges to justify its warmongering policy. Now they are taking off their masks and openly calling for regime change.
Seeking greater control over the Middle East, the United States together with Israeli Zionism deployed repeated military aggressions in recent times against Gaza, Lebanon and Syria; the attacks on Iran are part of that imperialist strategy, as denounced at the time by the ICMLPO.
We recognize Iran's right to defend itself, therefore, without ignoring the reactionary character of the "mullahs", the priority is to condemn and stop the brutal US-Israeli imperialist aggression.
Therefore, we call on the peoples of the Middle East and the whole world to mobilize against imperialist-Zionist aggression as a way to strengthen the struggle for peace.
Solidarity with the workers and people of Iran!
The Coordinating Committee of the International Conference of Marxist-Leninist Parties and Organizations (ICMLPO)

Received the evening of March 9th:

From the Union of African Workers - Senegal

Solidarity with the Iranian people against imperialist and Zionist, U.S. and Israeli aggression.
After Cuba, it is Iran's turn to suffer the criminal attacks of U.S. imperialism and Israeli Zionism. The bombing of Iran and its people is being carried out under the same spurious pretext of "fighting terrorism", "bringing democracy to the Iranian people", "liberating the people", "saving human lives".
These are the same lies that the United States has used to attack many countries on all continents with disastrous consequences of destruction of the victim countries and loss of human lives. This is exactly what is happening in Iran right now with the massacre of 153 girls at a girls' elementary school in Minah, in southern Iran and thousands of deaths in the country. Donald Tromp did not hide his loud and clear declaration that "bombs will continue to fall everywhere" until the end of "autocratic rule and its replacement by democracy". This declared objective as that of fighting against Iran's nuclear program is only an alibi, the real goal of this war is to monopolize Iran's oil and wealth and to position itself militarily for a better control of the region in relation to their rival China. The war against Iran, presented by the United States and the European Union as for the liberation of the Iranian people, is nothing but a lie. It is in reality against China to regain its hegemony weakened by Chinese power. There are many examples of countries where the United States has intervened for a "regime change"; and the results obtained in these operations are catastrophic from every point of view, the political and social situation is worse than it was before, such as in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan etc. The United States supports the most reactionary regimes and movements such as Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Zionist and racist organizations around the world. Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu are not liberators, on the contrary, they represent oppressive and rapacious regimes. The liberation of Iranians can only come from the Iranians themselves, it is up to them to sovereignly choose the regime they want. The assassination of their leader Khamenei has only made the situation more complex and the conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan on top of it indicates that the war will be long and the whole region can flare up given the geographical proximity.
The repercussions of this war, and that of Ukraine, will increase the cost of oil and consequently cause inflation and make the lives of our populations much harder.
We must refuse to be silent; The mobilization of progressive forces who love peace and justice is an imperative to express our solidarity with the Iranian, Palestinian, Cuban and Venezuelan peoples who are victims of U.S. aggression.

CAAT condemns illegal US-Israeli war on Iran

CAAT condemns the US and Israel’s illegal war on Iran that began on 28th February, which is a flagrant violation of Article 2 of the UN Charter which prohibits the use of force against another state, except in self-defence or following authorisation by a UN Security Council resolution. There was no evidence of an imminent attack by Iran on either the US, Israel, or any other state, that would support a claim that this is a ‘preemptive’ attack. It is an illegal war of aggression, pure and simple.

The attacks were launched, moreover, in the middle of negotiations on the future of Iran’s nuclear programme, supposedly one of the main reasons for the attack, which were apparently making progress, but where the US was clearly negotiating in bad faith.

CAAT likewise condemns Iranian attacks against civilian targets in Israel and the Gulf, and against states not involved in the attacks. International law allows for a defensive military response to armed aggression, but only against military targets. Iran has launched strikes on 27 American military bases, across Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as well as on Israeli military facilities, but also on civilian infrastructure and residential areas.

Already the US-Israeli attack has killed at least 787 Iranians including, most tragically, 153 civilians, mostly schoolgirls, in an attack on Saturday on a girls’ elementary school in Minab. At least 52 people have also been killed in Israel’s attack on Lebanon, and at least 27 have been killed in Israel and the Gulf region in Iran’s retaliatory strikes. The danger of even greater escalation is severe, and could lead to chaos in Iran and across the region. This war can only bring further death and destruction, and will do nothing to bring freedom to the people of Iran, who are now caught between US and Israeli bombs and regime bullets, or peace or stability to any country in the region.

American and Israeli foreign intervention is not about helping the people of Iran, but about gaining further neo-colonial control in the region. Significantly, this is motivated by Israel’s desire to continue its ethnic cleansing and genocide of Palestine with even further impunity.

UK involvement and arms supplies

Following the start of the war, our government has once again aligned itself with the deadly violence of American foreign policy. Despite Starmer’s earlier promises that British military bases would not be used by the United States in any escalatory aggression in the region, Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper continues to defend the government’s decision to go against its word and allow the US to use British bases for its attacks.

With British military bases in use and British planes “in the sky”, it is hard to believe this is anything other than the UK being pulled back into another American war in the Middle East, no matter how much our government states any British involvement is for so-called “defensive purposes”.

British involvement in these attacks goes beyond allowing the use of its bases by the US. In particular, both US and Israeli forces have used F-35 fighter jets in their strikes on Iran, 15% of which are produced in the UK. Indeed, the F-35 has played a crucial role in the war owing to its stealth capabilities, making it the first line of attack in ‘contested’ air space. The F-35 also played a crucial role in Israel’s previous attack on Iran in June 2025. The F-35 was also used by the US in its illegal attack on Venezuela in January.

Key components for F-35s are produced across England and Scotland, including:

  • the rear fuselage by BAE Systems in Samlesbury, Lancashire
  • the active interceptor system by BAE Systems in Rochester, Kent
  • the targeting lasers by Leonardo in Edinburgh
  • the bomb release cables by L3 Harris in Brighton.

In allowing the continued supply of F-35 components to Israel (via the US), despite their use in the genocide in Gaza, the UK government claimed that these supplies could not be stopped without jeopardising the global supply chain for the F-35 programme as a whole, which it claimed was crucial for preserving “peace and security”. But instead of peace and security, we are seeing this aircraft used again and again for illegal aggression and untold death, destruction and instability.

This illegal war of aggression, with all its devastating consequences, should call into question not only the UK’s long-standing subservience to US foreign policy and support for military aggression, but also its deep military and military-industrial dependence on, and intertwining with the United States and its arms industry. The US’s overwhelmingly dominant military machine, far from being a guarantee of global peace and international law, is – along with Russia, Israel, the UAE, and many others – one of its primary destroyers.

CAAT calls upon the UK government to:

  • Reverse its decision to allow the US to use UK military bases to attack Iran, issue a clear condemnation of the US-Israeli war as a violation of international law, and ensure that the UK plays no part in the war going forward.
  • Withdraw from the F-35 programme, immediately halting all F-35 component supplies to the US and Israel
  • Suspend all arms supplies to the US that can be used for illegal military action against Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, or other countries that have been threatened militarily by the US
  • Work to reduce UK arms imports from the US, and end UK military and arms industry dependence on the US, pursuing a foreign and defence policy based on collective security, human rights and respect for international law.

International Working Women’s Day 2026:
Women’s Liberation Requires the Defeat of Imperialism and Patriarchy

We commemorate International Women's Day on March 8 to remember its anti-imperialist roots and the revolutionary struggle of working-class women against exploitation. The day was born from the militancy of New York garment workers, who rose against sweatshop conditions, child labor, and political disenfranchisement. These fights were inseparable from the broader socialist and anti-colonial movements of the early twentieth century, as these women understood that the exploitation of their labor and bodies was directly tied to the imperialist domination of their nations. Their fight for “Bread and Roses”—for better pay, dignified living and working conditions, and gender equality—was therefore a fight against a global system. This legacy demands we view the struggles of women today through the same lens.

Today, U.S. imperialism, often in concert with allies like Israel, is waging war across the Global South. We see its bloody footprint from the genocidal violence in Palestine to the bombing of Nigeria, Somalia, Iran, and Venezuela. We see its bloody footprint in the economic warfare against Haiti, the destabilization of Lebanon, and the resource wars plaguing Sudan and Congo.  We see this patriarchal, white supremacist, capitalist-colonialist violence also in the kidnapping of Cilia Flores alongside her husband Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, as well as in the murder of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s children, grandchildren and family members beside him in Iran. In every instance, it is women and children who disproportionately pay the price, facing displacement, starvation, and the collapse of entire communities under the weight of unilateral sanctions and military aggression.

In this context, U.S. imperialism stands as the single greatest threat to the sovereignty of nations and the welfare of the world's peoples. It is the main enemy, the engine driving the wars, the economic plunder, and the humanitarian catastrophes that rob women of their futures. The fight for "Bread and Roses" cannot be won as long as this system of plunder exists.

As US and Israeli Imperialists continue their assaults on the Women and Children of oppressed peoples we must ask “What is being done to hold them accountable?” For BAP, this accountability must come from the people’s organized resistance to imperialist-zionist impunity on the world stage. We call on all people of conscience to join two immediate calls to challenge this imperialist impunity:

  • Just as the international sporting community banned apartheid South Africa from sport, we demand FIFA and the IOC now ban the U.S and Israel from hosting or participating in international sporting events for their systematic violence against the women and children of the global south and oppressed peoples within its borders — a show of solidarity in the continued fight for bread and roses. [Public Petition | Organizational endorsement of Anti-Fascist Football Coalition]

  • The people of the United States must oppose their government’s lawlessness that destroys families and livelihoods domestically and globally. Join the mobilizations against the kidnapping, detention, and kangaroo trial of Venezuelan First Combatant Cilia Flores and President Nicolas Maduro on March 26th at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center and solidarity actions throughout the world.

The task of anti-imperialists today is clear: we must unite and build our collective struggle to defeat US imperialism. We must reject the "sanitized" neoliberal feminism that celebrates individual achievement while ignoring the collective suffering caused by empire. True solidarity means mobilizing in the heart of the empire to dismantle its war machine, supporting national liberation struggles abroad, and recognizing that our liberation is bound to the liberation of women in Palestine, Haiti, Venezuela, Iran, and everywhere they resist. Only by defeating imperialism can we clear the path for a world where all women have dignity.

The Black Alliance for Peace Condemns the U.S.-Israeli War on Iran

The Black Alliance For Peace condemns, in the strongest terms, the recent U.S.-Israeli bombing of Tehran and other cities in Iran, which included the bombing of an all-girls school in Minab, which reportedly killed at least 50 students. This military attack is a flagrant violation of the most fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter. As articulated by Iran's Foreign Ministry and multiple international observers, it constitutes a clear act of aggression against a sovereign member state, undermining international peace and security. Such actions underscore the rogue statism of the U.S. and Israel as existential threats. Western powers, particularly the U.S., have embraced "international lawlessness" to support Israeli expansionism. In just the last two months, this lawlessness has enabled the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, and the bombing, invasion, and ongoing intervention in Venezuela; the heightened strangulation and attacks on Cuba; and now bombing and possible further attacks against Iran.

This criminal escalation serves the interests of no one but the imperialist-zionist warmongers. It flies in the face of domestic and global public opinion, which largely rejects such violence. The international community has condemned the strikes as an unprovoked act of armed aggression. When faced with such international gangsterism, we must ask: whose interests are being upheld? Certainly not those of the Iranian schoolchildren, workers, or the millions worldwide who desire peace. It is the capitalist-imperialist ruling class that rules through ever-accelerating militarism and the most extremist elements in Tel Aviv and Washington that benefit from this carnage.

Such U.S. and Israeli murderous lawlessness forces us to take coordinated action to impose consequences on these states. The international community of nations must not allow the normalization of U.S. led global fascism. This is why BAP has called for organizations and people of conscience to demand that FIFA move the World Cup out of the U.S., demand that both FIFA and the IOC ban the U.S. and Israel from hosting or participating in International Sporting Events, and to join coordinated resistance to Boycott the World Cup.  U.S. Zionist-imperialist impunity must end now!

More immediately, we call on all people of conscience to stand with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian people against this bombing and intervention, to mobilize where they are against the widening scope of U.S. wars, and to defend the right of peoples and nations to resist imperialist violence.

ADC STATEMENT ON UNAUTHORIZED U.S. WAR ON IRAN

Washington, D.C. | www.adc.org | February 28, 2026 – The decision to follow orders from Prime Minister Netanyahu to plunge the United States into war with Iran is reckless, unnecessary, and exactly the kind of action that will drag Americans into another forever war in the region. American tax dollars must not be used to advance Israel’s political and foreign policy agenda. There is absolutely no justification for what is unfolding.

These actions will cost lives across the region, destabilize it, and fuel economic shocks. It will also displace civilians, forcing them to flee in search of safety from bombing and aggression. The blowback will return home, hurting ordinary Americans while enriching the people and industries that profit from endless war.

President Trump ran on the promise of putting America First and ending all wars. This decision is not America First. It is Israel First. This is another war fought for Israel and falsely sold to the public as “security” and paid for with American taxpayer dollars.

Congress must act immediately to end this unauthorized war. Congressional leaders have already moved toward a War Powers Resolution to block or halt U.S. strikes and force a vote. That action must proceed without delay, and every member of Congress must go on record: either you defend the Constitution, or you enable another endless war.

[TAKE ACTION: Tell Your Rep. to Support the War Powers Resolution]

We know what comes next here in the U.S., because we’ve seen it before: war abroad leads to oppressive domestic policies. Israel-First lawmakers will push and promote anti-Arab, anti-Iranian, and anti-Muslim hate, and are already pushing repressive policies designed to criminalize free speech, punish protest, expand blacklists, and label dissent as “extremism.” ADC is actively fighting these efforts and will continue to do so—in legislatures, in courtrooms, and in public.

Officials use overseas conflict as an excuse to expand surveillance, silence dissent, build watchlists, and criminalize protest while due process and basic freedoms are quietly pushed aside. These crackdowns never stay “targeted.” Once emboldened, this playbook will expand until everyone feels it.

ADC will fight against any domestic crackdown tied to this war, publicly and in court. No intimidation, no profiling, no censorship, no targeting of Arab, Muslim, Middle Eastern, Iranian, or South Asian communities, or anyone who speaks out. No new wars. No Israel-first foreign policy. No surrender of our rights at home.

The Green Party of California condemns the military attacks on Iran and the assassination of the Iranian religious leaders by the U.S. and Israel.

The Green Party of California rises in solidarity with the Iranian people with our respect for their sovereignty and their right to self determination and to be free of war, intervention and occupation by the U.S. or any other foreign government.

We categorically condemn the military attacks by Israel and the U.S. on Iran and the assassination of the Iranian religious leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. We demand the U.S. government immediately:

- Implement a ceasefire and stop all military attacks in Iran that have already cost hundreds of civilian lives, including children.
- Return to the existing diplomatic negotiations with Iran with the goal of long term peace in the region.
- Lift the 50-year economic warfare by sanctions on Iran that have devastated the country’s economy.
- Respect the sovereignty of all nations according to the UN Charter and international law.
- Abide by the War Powers Act that requires Congressional approval for the use of U.S. armed forces.
- Comply with the Leahy Laws and halt the illegal funding and shipments of all weapons to Israel, which have been used to attack Iran and neighboring countries.

The Green Party opposes ALL U.S. military and economically coercive actions that have destabilized countries across the world, subjecting millions of people to displacement, dispossession, injury, and death.

Iran has been no exception. Throughout its recent history, Iran has endured U.S. interventions by deposing leaders, manufactured coups, and brutal economic sanctions. The empire’s plan for Iran goes back 72 years when a CIA plot overthrew a democratically elected Iranian socialist leader who planned to nationalize Iran’s oil. Empire could not allow that!

The recent domestic unrest in Iran was sparked as a result of a 50-year economic warfare of sanctions that collapsed Iran’s economy in December of 2025 The people of Iran rightfully took to the streets in protest demanding better living conditions, economic relief and accountability from the Islamic Republic of Iran's leadership.

As early as June 2025, an Israeli funded propaganda campaign was at work manufacturing support for Reza Pahlavi, the son of the deposed Shah of Iran, a U.S. resident for 47 years, and a strong ally to Israel.
Reports of Mossad agents and agitators working in Iran during 2025 started surfacing in recent months and eventually BOTH Israeli Officials and former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo have proudly admitted that Mossad agents were operating in Tehran and walking beside Iranians in the streets.

The U.S. CIA playbook is the same in many countries where indigenous people’s legitimate movements against their own governments are co-opted to destabilize, exploit and fracture the country to profit the U.S. war machine and foreign interests.

First, the war and surveillance industrial complex rakes in billions of tax dollars for military operations, followed by western vulture capitalists who come to plunder resources and reap the spoils of war.
The Green Party of California believes that:
- No U.S. government military intervention, orchestrated coups, or warfare has ever benefited the people.
- No democracy has ever been exported from the U.S. because the U.S. government has been suppressing democracy right here at home.
- No bombs destroying precious infrastructure and taking innocent lives have ever solved poverty and scarcity in countries whose resources have been plundered by multinational corporations.

Statement: Condemnation of the Illegal and Unjust War on Iran by the United States

Just Peace Advocates strongly condemns the imminent war on Iran planned by the United States of America. Just Peace Advocates stated that such an action is both illegal and unjust, representing a serious threat to peace and stability in the region.

The Threat of War

The United States is currently threatening to launch a devastating war on Iran in the near future. Just Peace Advocates expresses deep concern over these developments and calls for an immediate halt to any military escalation.

In the last month, the United States and Israel have made unjust demands on Iran which, if not met, a US war on Iran will ensue.

The three demands, zero uranium enrichment, curbing Iranian missile defense capacities to three hundred kilometers and ending support for the axis of resistance to the Zionist entity in western Asia. These demands are echoed by the Zionist entity, Israel.

The United States and Israel are nuclear powers and have no right to impose nuclear limits on the sovereign nation of Iran. It is common knowledge that Iran does not want nuclear arms and is ready to limit uranium enrichment with international supervision. These issues should be resolved by diplomatic means: war and the threat of war must be abandoned by the US President, Donald Trump.

Iranian missile defences are capable of hitting Israel and all American military bases in western Asia. Iran as a sovereign nation has the unalienable right to defend itself under article 51 of the United Nations Charter by any means necessary, particularly in the light of Israeli and American threats to attack and impose an illegal regime change.

It is illegal and unreasonable for the United States and Israel to require Iran to stop all support granted to the Resistance Axis in Lebanon, Yemen, Gaza, Syria, and Iraq. This support, as it exists, results from its agreements with the Resistance movements against the illegitimate Zionist entity. Opposition to Zionist colonialism, and all settler colonialism, should be commended.

Just Peace Advocates calls for deescalation, negotiations which respect international law, including the sovereign right of Iran to defend itself with all its advanced military assets and the right to work in tandem with all military and political opponents to the illegitimate Zionist occupation of Palestine.

A war on Iran would violate its sovereignty and the principals of Nuremberg established by the International Military Tribunal which established the legal precedent that launching a war of aggression is the “supreme international crime”. Defined as “crimes against peace,” this included planning, preparing, or initiating wars in violation of international treaties and sovereign nations.

The United States must abandon it role as an aggressor and negotiate with Iran respecting its sovereignty recognized by International Law.
