Statement of Solidarity

The brotherly Moroccan Workers’ Democratic Way Party has recently been subjected to repressive targeting affecting its activities and militants, including the summons of the party’s Secretary-General, comrade Jamal Baraja, along with other activists, to appear before the National Brigade of the Judicial Police. There is no doubt that this targeting comes as a result of the party’s steadfast positions on the various issues concerning the Moroccan people, and its relentless struggle against the repressive and authoritarian Makhzen regime. It is also linked to the party’s firm opposition to normalization with the Zionist enemy, a policy pursued by the regime against the will and positions of the Moroccan people, who stand unequivocally with the Palestinian cause. Furthermore, this targeting seeks to disrupt the efforts of the party’s militants as they prepare for their Sixth National Congress at the end of next July, in line with the authorities’ ongoing practices of suppressing freedoms and undermining the right to independent organization.
The undersigned parties and organizations, while affirming their unconditional solidarity with the Workers’ Democratic Way Party, its youth organization, and the Moroccan people, declare that they:
Strongly condemn this targeting as an entrenched practice of the Makhzen regime, and consider it evidence of the regime’s confusion and fear in the face of growing anger and resentment against policies of dependency, authoritarianism, and corruption on all levels.
Renew their principled support for the revolutionary and progressive forces in Morocco in their struggles for freedom, dignity, democracy, and justice.
Call upon all forces of freedom and progress in the region and around the world to express their solidarity and organize all forms of support for the brotherly Workers’ Democratic Way Party in Morocco, in defense of its inalienable right to free and independent political activity.

يتعرض حزب النهج الديمقراطي العمالي المغربي الشقيق في المدة الأخيرة إلى استهداف قمعي يطال أنشطته ومناضليه بما فيها دعوة الأمين العام للحزب الرفيق جمال براجع ومناضلين آخرين للمثول أمام الفرقة الوطنية للشرطة القضائية. ولا شك أن هذا الاستهداف يتم على خلفية المواقف المتماسكة للحزب الشقيق من مختلف القضايا التي تهم الشعب المغربي ونضاله المستميت ضد نظام المخزن القمعي والاستبدادي، وعلى خلفية مناهضته الصارمة للتطبيع مع العدو الصهيوني الذي ينخرط فيه النظام ضد رغبة ومواقف الشعب المغربي المنحاز بشكل مطلق للقضية الفلسطينية، وكذلك من أجل محاولة إرباك مناضلات النهج ومناضليه في إعدادهم لانجاز مؤتمرهم الوطني السادس نهاية جويلية القادم، وهو ما دأبت عليه السلطة في إطار مصادرة الحريات وضرب حق التنظم المستقل.
إن الأحزاب والمنظمات الموقعة أدناه، إذ تؤكد تضامنها غير المشروط مع حزب النهج الديمقراطي العمالي ومع شبيبته، ومع الشعب المغربي، فإنها:
-تدين بشدة هذا الاستهداف كممارسة متأصلة عند النظام المخزني وتعتبره دليل ارتباك وخوف من تنامي الغضب والسخط ضد سياسات التبعية والاستبداد والفساد على مختلف الأصعدة.
-تجدد إسنادها المبدئي للقوى الثورية والتقدمية في المغرب في خوض معارك الحرية والكرامة والديمقراطية والعدالة.
-تهيب بكل قوى الحرية والتقدم في المنطقة وفي العالم بأن تعبر عن تضامنها و تنظم كل أشكال الإسناد لحزب النهج الديمقراطي العمالي الشقيق في المغرب دفاعا عن حقوقه غير القابلة للتصرف في النشاط السياسي الحر والمستقل.
