A few hours earlier, at 7:40pm in Lebanon, Israel killed Hezbollah official Fuad Shukr, along with two children and a woman, and about 70 people were injured in Haret Hreik, a Shia Muslim and Maronite Christian area in the Al-Dahieh neighborhood of Beirut, Lebanon. Israel calls this retaliation for the rocket that killed several Druze children and other youths at a soccer field in the majority Druze town of Majdal Shams, a major town in the occupied Golan Heights, south of Mount Harmon, on July 27th. Apparently none of the victims were Israeli citizens. Hezbollah denies having carried out that attack. I read an article, which I can't find now, claiming that Hezbollah has admitted responsibility in past cases in which civilians were accidentally killed, indicating, if true, that they aren't just trying to evade responsibility in this case. The assassination was apparently condemned by Iran, Russia, and Syria, and defended by Kamala Harris, supposedly not as anti-Arab national liberation as Joe Biden, while in Atlanta, Georgia (Harris' State campaign committee is chaired by Natalie Murdock of the NC Senate, I just heard).
The of assassination of Ismail Haniyeh was condemned or criticized by Mahmoud Abbas of the PA, PIJ, Iraq, Oman, Afghanistan, Qatar, Jordan, China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Turkey, etc., according to the Wikipedia article. Egypt said that Israel is demonstrating that it doesn't desire a ceasefire, having killed a key negotiator on the Palestinian side, as they kill police (and then there are US or other complaints about the break down of order in Gaza and foreign aid being stolen), medics, doctors, academics, foreign and local relief workers, etc. The assassination was praised by rightists such as Geert Wilders of the Netherlands, while Israel backer Germany urged "restraint." Israel is very unrestrained, though US-based rabid Zionists such as the Tablet (July 31st -- "an unmistakable message to the leaders of the Axis of Resistance: We can hit you wherever you are, and neither the Iranians nor the Americans can protect you.") seem to think the US was protecting Haniyeh, indicating that they think Israel is fighting the USA, yet Israel is given a free hand under Biden and his predecessors to spy and carry out covert operations and election meddling in this country. The USA has yet to attribute the attack in Tehran to Israel.
Also, I'm trying to post a substantial calendar shortly, this week.

CPC(M-L) Statement - Heinous Criminal Act Will Not Deter Palestinian Resistance
Ismail Haniyeh
1962/63 – July 31, 2024
The Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) condemns the assassination of [Islamic Resistance Movement (Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya)] political leader Ismail Haniyeh [around 2am, after the Iranian inauguration,] on Wednesday, July 31 [at a house for veterans in the north of Tehran] as a criminal act of Zionist cowardice. This day will go down as one more day of Zionist infamy. CPC(M-L) also condemns to eternal shame the U.S., Britain and countries such as Canada that are putting their state power behind Israel’s futile attempt to commit genocide of the Palestinian people and make sure Israel realizes its criminal aims.
CPC(M-L) expresses its deepest sympathies to all [Islamic Resistance Movement] members, Ismail Haniyeh’s remaining family and the entire Palestinian people and their heroic Resistance Movement. On the occasion of this great loss, CPC(M-L) reiterates its categorical support for the Palestinian Resistance and conviction that it will prevail over the heinous crimes of genocide the Israeli Zionists are carrying out with the full support of the United States, Britain, Canada and a handful of other mostly European countries.
Ismail Haniyeh devoted his life to the patriotic cause of his people, always upholding the unity of the Resistance under all conditions and circumstances. Today, in the face of the deadly Israeli genocide and this latest heinous cowardly act, we reiterate: We are all Palestinians, we stand as one humanity the world over to make sure justice will prevail.
CPC(M-L) calls on Canadians and Quebeckers to go all out to step up their expressions of support for the Palestinian Resistance and condemn Canada’s appeasement of genocide. Take up the conviction of the Palestinian people as expressed by Ismail Haniyeh’s son, Abdul Salam Haniyeh, who, on hearing of his father’s martyrdom, said of his father: “He was very keen to establish national unity and strived for the unity of all Palestinian factions and we affirm that this assassination will not deter the resistance, which will fight until freedom is achieved.”
This is the profound conviction which imbues the resistance and its martyrs. It is the strongest response to attempts by the apologists of the Zionist criminals who are claiming that Israel has succeeded in expanding the war to involve Iran, Lebanon and other countries so as to draw the U.S. and its fellow partners in crime into achieving Israeli aims. It is the necessary response to defeat attempts to declare that because Haniyeh was conducting the ceasefire talks and prisoner exchange arrangements with great ability, and was instrumental in the talks for a national unity government, the Palestinian Resistance will not be able to overcome this set-back. It is the response required to shame the claims of the Zionists and apologists for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that, by carrying out this assassination in Tehran itself, the criminal Israeli intelligence organization Mossad has now vindicated itself for its intelligence failure on October 7, 2023 and now Israel will achieve its goal of wiping out Hamas. Celebrations in Israel of the assassination reveal the need to stick to the path of the Resistance which is what serves to condemn attempts to promote and join Zionist barbarism.
This is not the first time the Palestinian Resistance has defied the lies spread by the Zionists and their apologists and their heinous crimes and acts of cowardice.
We Are All Palestinians!
We Stand as One Humanity the World Over to Make Sure Justice Will Prevail!
Hamas Confirms Assassination of Political Leader Ismail Haniyeh
On Wednesday, July 31, Ismail Haniyeh, leader of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement [the Islamic Resistance Movement] was assassinated in Tehran, Iran. Haniyeh, who carried out his work in exile in Qatar, had been in Iran to attend the swearing-in of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian the day before.
On July 31, Hamas said of Haniyeh’s killing, “The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas mourns to our great Palestinian people, to the Arab and Islamic nation, and to all the free people of the world: brother, leader, martyr, Mujahid Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the movement, was killed in a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran.”
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement: “Early this morning, the residence of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran was struck, resulting in his and one of his bodyguards’ martyrdom. The cause is under investigation and will be announced soon.”
Senior Hamas Official Sami Abu Zuhri said: “This assassination by the Israeli occupation of Brother Haniyeh is a grave escalation that aims to break the will of Hamas and the will of our people and achieve fake goals. We confirm that this escalation will fail to achieve its objectives.
“Hamas is a concept and an institution and not persons. Hamas will continue on this path regardless of the sacrifices and we are confident of victory.”
A statement subsequently issued by Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said:
“This terrorist act is not only a flagrant violation of the principles and rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, but also a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.”
“The new aggressive and terrorist act of this regime in the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh is part of the Palestinian genocide plan, especially in the past 10 months, and aimed at increasing insecurity in the West Asia region.
“As a supporter and accomplice of the Zionist regime in the continuation of the occupation and genocide of Palestinians, the US government is responsible in committing this heinous act of terrorism.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the aggressive act of the Zionist regime in the assassination of the tireless Mujahid Sheikh Ismail Haniyeh and considers it its inherent right to respond appropriately to this aggressive act against its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
“Haniyeh’s martyrdom in Tehran will strengthen the deep and unbreakable bond between Tehran, Palestine, and the resistance,” Kanaani also said.
In Tehran, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led the prayers over the body of Ismail Haniyeh at Tehran University to start his funeral procession, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported.
After prayers at 8:30 am local time, the procession went to Azadi (Freedom) Square. Following the Iranian people’s expression of grief and rage, Haniyeh’s body will be flown to Doha, Qatar for his funeral on August 2.
Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network joins the entire Palestinian national movement in condemning the assassination, mourning the martyrdom and saluting the life of the leader, Ismail Haniyeh, Abu al-Abed, the chair of the Political Bureau of Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, in Tehran, Iran.
Haniyeh was in Iran to attend the inauguration of newly elected Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian and also met with Imam Khamenei today, alongside Ziyad Nakhaleh of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, and was assassinated along with his bodyguard and companion, the martyr Wassim Abu Shaaban, in the residence where he was staying by a “treacherous Zionist raid,” as Hamas stated in the movement’s first statement on the assassination.
The assassination policy of the Zionist regime has attempted to erase the leadership of the Palestinian people for over 76 years now. The names of the martyrs of assassination are great, shining figures of history. Ismail Haniyeh. Saleh al-Arouri. Abu Ali Mustafa. Fathi Shiqaqi. Ghassan Kanafani. Kamal Nasser. Abdel-Aziz Rantisi. Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. Abu Jihad. Mohammed al-Najjar. Basil al-Kubaisi. Tareq Izzedine. Samir Kuntar. Kamal Udwan. Imad Mughniyyeh. Sheikh Khader Adnan. Ibrahim al-Rai: A parade of martyrs on the road to the liberation of Palestine.
Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated as part of a comprehensive policy of the Zionist regime that aims to eliminate the leaders, spokespeople and revolutionary voices of the Palestinian liberation movement.
This aggression was also an act of war against Iran, and came on the same day as the attempted assassination of a leader of Hezbollah, the Lebanese resistance movement, through the Zionist bombing of the southern suburbs of Beirut, and on a day that the US bombed Iraq, targeting the Iraqi resistance, assassinating three members of the resistance forces. It is also clear that this is not a Zionist crime alone, but a crime bought and paid for by the United States and its imperialist partners.
These assassinations have not undermined the strength, solidarity, commitment and firmness of the alliance of resistance forces in the region. From Iran to Lebanon, Yemen to Iraq to Syria, and of course, to Palestine, where the people and the Resistance daily confront the genocidal Zionist regime, the people have the right and the determination to resist, to respond and to confront the assassins and genocidaires. Further, this crime does not demonstrate the “strength” of the Zionist entity but rather its desperation and decline. These assassinations and international aggressions come as the Zionist regime is rent with internal contradictions and riots as settlers and soldiers demand the right to rape imprisoned Palestinians, reflecting the death throes of a wounded colonial monster.
Ismail Haniyeh, 61, a husband, father and grandfather, was born a Palestinian refugee in al-Shati camp and struggled all his life for the liberation of the Palestinian people. From his days as a student, a football player, and a leader in the Islamic Bloc at the Islamic University of Gaza, he was dedicated to the Hamas movement and to Palestine. In 1989, amid the great popular Intifada and shortly after the founding of the movement, Haniyeh was abducted and imprisoned by the Zionist regime for three years, before he was among 415 Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders and members forcibly deported to Marj al-Zuhour in southern Lebanon on 17 December 1992, alongside Dr. Abdelaziz al-Rantisi, Sheikh Youssef Sarkji, Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri, Dr. Mahmoud al-Zahhar, and, among many others, Mustafa Abu Ora, the martyr of the prisoners’ movement just five days ago.
[A photo of Ismail Haniyeh with Mustafa Abu Ora?]
He headed the office of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin in Gaza and was elected the leader of Hamas in Gaza in 2004, following the assassination of Abdel-Aziz al-Rantisi. In 2017 Haniyeh was elected by the Hamas movement to lead its Political Bureau and was reelected to this position in 2021.
Haniyeh was the chief negotiator mandated by the Hamas movement and all of the organizations of the Palestinian Resistance, and this assassination aims to prevent him from seeing and directly welcoming the prisoners freed by the Resistance and once again underlines that the Zionist regime is only interested in continued genocide.
Over 60 of his family members have been martyred, killed by the Zionist regime in the past 10 months, including three of his children and five of his grandchildren. “The blood of my children is not more valuable than the blood of the people of Palestine and all the martyrs in Gaza are my children,” he said, cherishing all of the martyrs of Palestine.
“There is no difference between the martyrs, and they have all been chosen by the Most Merciful to pave our way to victory and freedom,” he said. “The blood of the martyrs demands that we do not compromise, do not relent, do not change or alter, do not weaken, and do not despair, but continue our path with determination.”
The martyr Tareq Izzedine, of the Islamic Jihad movement, gave his last statement before his assassination on the martyrdom of Sheikh Khader Adnan, himself assassinated through deliberate refusal of medical care in the Zionist prisons. His words remain resonant today (video by Resistance News Network): “Whenever a leader ascends, ten will emerge to replace them. When a martyr ascends, 100 martyrs will emerge to replace them. The march continues, and it does not stop until the defeat of the occupation.”
Just today, Ismail Haniyeh said, in his meeting with Imam Khamenei, “Yesterday marked the 300th day of the Gaza War, and we have now reached a critical and historic stage in which the Palestinian people and the Resistance Forces must sustain their heroism and victory.”
His last major statement was for the prisoners, and for popular mobilization, urging people everywhere to participate in the August 3 call to action for Gaza and the Prisoners. “Freedom is near for our dignified prisoners and honorable female prisoners, and victory is coming for our people and our valiant resistance.”
“We call for active and massive participation on this national and global day in defense of our prisoners and our people in the Gaza Strip, to expose the brutal crimes of the occupation against them, and to support their rights and just cause….We look forward to making the 3 of August a pivotal day in all parts of Palestine, in the refugee camps and the diaspora, in our Arab and Islamic world, & among all the free people of the world, to support our people in Gaza and our free prisoners in the occupation’s prisons.”
We must all mobilize, on August 3 and beyond. We must all act. We must all continue the struggle, to confront Zionism and imperialism everywhere and to hold them accountable for their crimes.
From Beirut to Tehran to Gaza to Haifa, to all of our communities, this is the time for action and confrontation. They have never killed the resistance and will not succeed in doing so today.
Ismail Haniyeh and all of the martyrs live on, and their legacy of commitment, sacrifice and love for the people is an inspiration to generations to come. The defeat of Zionism is forthcoming, as is the liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea. Every one of the honourable martyrs have sacrificed everything in order to make that vision a material reality that is closer every day.
Glory to the martyr Ismail Haniyeh and all the martyrs of Palestine and the Resistance. Return, liberation and victory to Palestine, all of Palestine, from the river to the sea.
Has the Chapel Hill Public Library decided to go against free local publications, as some of Durham's libraries have in recent years, or are they only targeting left publications? Could it even be over Israel? I'm a bystander in this, but just about the only reason I visit the CHPL and Durham County Libraries is to pick up free publications and check the advertisements people put up and I've dropped publications and flyers off in the past. They have plenty of room for more. I also have some complaints about how the DCL has changed under new management and at least historically some departments at UNC have students and/or staff evidently especially hostile to left speech. UNC and local libraries seem to have taken a cold turn recently, despite all of the talk about libraries and free speech during the Trump and Biden years, and I don't mean only regarding anti-war protest.
Slovakia
It sounds like the BBC and NPR blame Slovak prime minister Robert Fico for the attempt on his life yesterday in Handlová, in central Slovakia, and since they say he is in with Putin and Orban, "illiberal," and "populist," it can be thought that they wish that he had been killed. NPR also doesn't seem to think it is very important news, compared to whatever about Trump, etc, though they avoid directly quoting Trump and Republicans who don't vote the 'right' way, Xi, Putin, Hamas, Iran, etc. If they aren't "state media," why are there concerns about Congress cutting their funding? I don't know the details of Fico's politics, or claims that his party had ties to Italian organized crime, but it seems to clearly be a party of the left, even if not that far on the left. Yet here is the headline on left Common Dreams: "Far-Right Prime Minister of Slovakia Shot in Assassination Attempt," by Julia Conley – www.commondreams.org/news/prime-minister-of-slovakia So far one comment on "far-right." I don't recall the media blaming Bolsonaro in Brazil for the attempt on his life or praising it, though NPR doesn't seem very bothered when Russian civilians in Russia and not in the government are assassinated or killed by terrorists, Ukrainian or otherwise. The BBC made Slovakia sound extremely divided, probably blaming Fico for being "divisive," while NPR brings up the organized crime allegations and alleged, undefined illiberality. "Liberal" used to refer to free market capitalist positions and often still does, maybe more often in Europe, etc. In Europe and Canada parties of the right can take positions with or well to the left of the US Democratic Party, but still be considered on the right. It sounds like Fico led Slovakia into NATO, etc., but how dare he now speak against the war in Ukraine, which borders Slovakia and Hungary and I think includes formerly Czechoslovak territory: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpatho-Ukraine War in Ukraine and Russia might be a more viscerally concerning issue for people in Slovakia and Hungary than for Americans, and they might know much more of the background. NPR headline: Fico is "an ally of Russia" and wants to "control" the "free press?" I don't think they condemned Bolsonaro, "the Trump of the tropics," like that right after he was stabbed September 6, 2018 in Juiz de Fora. I recall that Democrats blamed rightist or far right talk radio for encouraging domestic terrorism in the 90's. The new government of Poland changing the public media is okay, but whatever recently elected Fico allegedly wants to do with public media is harmful and following the example of Viktor Orban? They haven't gone into detail about it, and the Republic of Georgia seems to have dropped from the news, as did Slovakia after the recent elections, which went against NATO and EU desires. Speaking of 'divisiveness,' is Biden sowing domestic division over the wars, the anti-China campaign, Trump, TikTok, etc?

Former Guantánamo prisoners from Yemen to be deported by Oman:
Hello,
I am urgently reaching out to shed light on the dire situation facing 28 Yemeni former prisoners of Guantánamo Bay currently residing in Oman. Despite their efforts to integrate into Omani society since their release between 2014-2017, these individuals are now confronting the harrowing possibility of deportation back to Yemen. Oman has served as a sanctuary for Yemeni former prisoners of Guantánamo Bay since their release.
Initially resettled in Oman through a bilateral agreement between the United States and the Omani government, these men arrived without formal assurances but with the hope of rebuilding their lives. Despite the absence of explicit guarantees, they were led to believe by their lawyers that they would find refuge and stability in Oman. Upon their arrival in Oman, Omani officials assured the men they would not be deported, and they told them to forget Yemen, this is their country now. Oman was very welcoming.
However, earlier this year, the Omani government delivered the distressing news of their deportation back to Yemen, citing no specific reasons but hinting at pressure from the US government. This abrupt decision has left the former prisoners and their families in a state of distress, fearing the perilous conditions awaiting them in Yemen amidst ongoing conflict and political instability.
The prospect of returning to Yemen, a country engulfed in chaos, raises grave concerns about their safety, well-being, and legal status. In Yemen, they face the grim realities of potential imprisonment, torture, and lack of provisions for themselves and their families.
As the deportation date looms closer, Oman has taken drastic measures, threatening those who resist deportation with dire consequences, including the withdrawal of essential services such as housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities. This month, Omani authorities refused to extend the residency stay for some of the children born in Oman who also will be deported, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. The Omani authorities have informed the men that the deportation process will commence in July, adding to the urgency and gravity of the situation. Omani offers for those who are willing to leave voluntarily will be given a small amount of money.
Efforts to seek clarification and assistance from both the Omani government and the US State Department have been met with silence and denial, leaving these individuals and their advocates in a state of desperation.
Cage International has reached out to the State Department, Omani government, and Yemen embassy in Washington who replied that they will look into the issue, but no reply from either the US State Department or the Omani government. Amnesty International and activists attempted to meet with Omani officials at the Oman embassy, but the Omani ambassador refused to grant them an audience."
Amnesty wrote to the Yemeni government addressing the issue but received no reply.
The plight of these Yemeni former Guantánamo prisoners underscores the urgent need for comprehensive support systems to aid in their transition from detention to freedom. It highlights the enduring impact of prolonged detention and emphasizes the importance of upholding the rights and dignity of all individuals, irrespective of their past circumstances.
We urgently appeal to NGOs, activists, and concerned individuals to join us in advocating for the rights of these former prisoners and to pressure the Omani government and international authorities to halt their deportation. Every voice raised in support of their cause not only prevents another travesty after their ordeal in Guantánamo but also ensures a brighter future for them and their families.
Please, if you have any means to assist or contribute to their cause, do not hesitate to reach out.

May 15th an RFK Jr email claimed that a John Zogby Strategies poll of 26,408 likely voters, with representation from every state, says that RFK Jr can beat both Trump and Biden this fall. Other new polling has Biden losing to Trump in key states, though the media might say that early polls don't really matter and that voters are deluded, still thinking that Biden and Trump will somehow be removed before the election. RFK Jr joined Biden and Trump on the wrong side regarding the Middle Eastern war, but he is another politician on NPR's target list. They made sure to talk about his parasitic worm earlier in the week, but in 2024 they have been forced to talk about him some. It seems like the Israeli government is cavalier about the safety of the captive Israelis when it attacks tunnels and buildings in Rafah, etc. without knowing who is inside. There is a Chinese song labelled "Tunnel Warfare." And the USA has its tunnels, where the president and the military brass can survive, for a while, if they start a nuclear war with China or Russia, or if other nuclear powers have a regional total war, while the rest of us can burn, starve, or freeze.

An anti-masking bill in the NC Senate, aimed at protesters, is now going to the House, and where does the governor stand?
Protesters disrupted a UNC Board of Trustees meeting yesterday, probably during the new "Maymester" Board of Trustees meetings near the main campus in Chapel Hill have been regularly disrupted for various causes, for years Lee Roberts announced that UNC-Chapel Hill has been 'collecting information' on protesters for about a month now, and will take action at the university level, including for what is just speech, disruption, "shutting down a speaker," etc.? Anything more will be left to the courts, but what does that mean? If UNC is turning over information about its students to justice system, they would seem to be implying that the subjects should be prosecuted for some crime. It seems like Roberts is another political official who needs to be removed from power this year, but he might be given permanent office at UNC instead. I didn't much notice UNC's top governance when I was a student, rightly or not, though there were issues to bring up with the administration. I don't recall anyone being punished by UNC over student manifestations.

Was this Zionist car attack or terrorist attack in New York City ever reported on NPR, etc.? –www.commondreams.org/news/pro-israel-driver-protest Not bringing up "slow civil war" and "fascism" on NPR, when Israel supporters and mobs, probably ' Trumpists,' are trying to kill or beat people? It was a regular topic on NPR not long ago, or maybe I haven't been listening when they went into over the top rhetoric again. 2024 is becoming reminiscent of the late Vietnam War era or worse, though unrest and violence probably isn't as widespread as back then, yet. It also comes out that the flags of Cuba, the ROK, and many other countries were carried by the "J6" rioters for Trump.

This day is a solemn reminder of the expulsion and dispossession of the Palestinian people from their ancestral homeland at the hands of Zionist militias and settler military forces. Decades of killing, ethnic cleansing and dehumanization.
Decades of generational compounded trauma and grief. Decades of injustice marked by massacres named after the towns and villages where they occurred; proof of the systematic plan to rid Palestine of its indigenous inhabitants: the Palestinian people. From Deir Yassin, to Tantura, to Kufur Qassem, to Lydd, to Qibya, to the current horrific genocide taking place in Gaza, this continuum of annihilation must end now! There are volumes of personal narratives passed down from parents and grandparents, many armed with the keys to their homes, grainy photos of lives stolen and heroic narratives of unfathomable brutality and injustice.
For 76 years, the assault has been as brutal on Palestinian life and history as it has been on the land itself. Olive groves cut down and water aquifers contaminated. Over 500 Palestinian villages permanently erased from maps are now covered with forests of invasive, non-native trees. The village of Al-Tira has been erased by Carmel National Park, and 6 Palestinian villages lay under Birya forest. The village of Sarkas became a garbage dump for a Zionist settlement. Where once stood the Palestinian village of Tantura, and on top of a mass grave of over 200 Palestinian, now is a parking lot for Israel’s Dor Beach.
What can never be erased are stories of Palestinian life from the river to the sea that predates the Zionist entity. On the banks of the Jordan River Palestinians had picnics, enjoying the fruit of their citrus and date trees. To the hills of Ramallah, called by the promise of the cool breeze, many went during the summer heat, where children played in the sturdy branches of mature fig trees. Shepherds roamed the Naqab’s heat, knowing each dune and hardy plant. To Gaza they went for vacations and honeymoons, surrounded by centuries of buried and unearthed rich history. Stories and memories created will forever remain in the golden sand of Yafa, the bride of the sea.
The Palestinian people continue to embrace life and persist. Their stories are a tribute to humanity and the universal quest for freedom and justice. Both the personal narratives and the keys to their homes will continue to be passed down; these are the foundations for the future of liberation for the coming generations.
