Several events this weekend

Apparently the KKK is supposed to be marching in Raleigh tomorrow to celebrate Trump's electoral victory, and the Triangle Unity May Day Coalition and others are counter-protesting.  The KKK's plans have not been announced, so there will be an NC Rally for Unity - Shut Down Donald Trump and the KKK! 12-3pm at Moore Square (200 South South Blount Street, in downtown Raleigh).  To volunteer as a marshal, email readytheground [at] gmail and come early on the 3rd.  For more information about the event, see:  www.facebook.com/events/187482234990430/

Unrelated to the rally, there will be a People's Assembly nearby Sunday, December 4th, 2-5pm at the NC Association of Educators building (700 South Salisbury Street, Raleigh) for social movement strategizing.

The Triangle Greens will be meeting to strategize after the election December 3rd, 10am-12:30 at Cameron Village Regional Library (1930 Clark Avenue) in Raleigh.  The Facebook event page is at:  www.facebook.com/events/748868705261494/

This weekend is also the Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library's winter book sale ( chapelhillpubliclibrary.org/eventscalendar/big-book-sale/ ).

NCSU's JC Raulston Arboretum is holding a free Poinsettia Open House December 4th, 1-5pm with an international selection of Christmas carols by the Joy Recorder Ensemble.  The Arboretum is part of a project to test new varieties of this festive Mexican native and people will be able to cast their own votes.  There is also a 9' poinsettia (probably most poinsettias could get tall if grown perennial house plants)!  For more information, call 919 513 7457 or see:  jcra.ncsu.edu/events/details.php?ID=1370
