Demonstration in DC against the attack on Gaza 1/10

This is a notice from the NC branch of MAS-Freedom (www.masfreedom-nc.org).  Locally, I think there was another protest in Raleigh Monday, and there are weekly peace vigils on Fridays at 4:30 at the corner of Franklin and Elliot in Chapel Hill and on Saturdays at 12 at Brightleaf Square in Durham.

Gaza is Burning Now; But Let's Put the Heat on DC on Jan. 10th, 2009

For your review is the following information regarding the next step: a major national mobilization for Gaza is scheduled in Washington DC on Saturday, January 10th in Lafayette Park, across from the White House. It is scheduled to commence at 1 pm. We look forward to at least a hundred thousand, we pray for even more.

Due to the rapid escalation and short time frame for our national response, your effort at the organizational level is crucial. In addition please note that we also have a major email campaign to President-elect Obama (see MAS Info "Silence is Betrayal Campaign.").

We will be organizing transportation to Washington DC. Please call the MAS office to leave your name and contact information for bus info (919) 852-0070. Please submit your information by Wednesday.  In order to facilitate everyone, we must have a accurate headcount.

Please pass this information on. Eleven mosques have been destroyed and people were killed as they prayed.
Those of you who would like to sponsor a van, please leave your name and contact information at director at masfreedom-nc dot org.

Durham BORDC meeting

Saturday at 2:30 BORDC is meeting in the third floor conference room at the Main Library, and I'm sure Gaza will be a topic, as well as immigration and other issues.
